.Nursing Experience: I have 27 years of experience in private duty nursing, with primarily pediatric patients up to age 21. I was the primary nurse and team leader working independently for children with high tech needs for most of those years for Amazing Care Home Health Care and Professional Pediatric Home Care Inc. in Denver, CO and St. Johns Health Care in Ludington, MI. Good documentation skills with a solid grasp of computer usage was required as was effective communication to patient/family, team members, and other health care professionals. Experience includes tracheostomy care, G-tube feedings and med administration, ventilators, Foley catheters, colostomies etc. I am familiar with the various medical equipment common in PDN cases. Equipment such as nebulizers, suction machines, mist nebs, oxygen equipment, pulse oximeters, standers and Hoyer lifts. I have taken care of all the ordering supplies and medications, helped transfer wheel chair patients to Dr. appointments, taken care of recertification for the 485s, supervised other nurses and CNAs, and learned to deal with the mentally ill, compromising environments and difficult parents and children. As a CNA from 1993-1995 my experience includes the nursing home setting and the home health setting taking care of the elderly in every aspect such as bathing, transfers, feeding etc.

I have the capacity to understand what others may not be able to communicate. I am empathetic to others needs and will go above and beyond to help them achieve their needs. My communication skills are excellent even in a non-communicative environment. My passion is elderly and disabled, whether that be mentally or physically. Everyone deserves a fair chance at a good life and I want to help others succeed. I am a very hardworking person as I also have the desire to provide thoroughly for my family as well. I find that elderly and disabled persons flock to me as they feel safe in my presence and know that that isn't always the case for them.
