I have been in caregiving since 2021. I have worked in many assisted living facilities and have taken care of many patients ranging from those having dementia to not being able to move around as much as they use to. I'm very proud of how far I've come and proud of the connections I have made along the way!

My name is Amber, I live in Midland with my husband and our dogs! I moved to Midland around 4 years ago and I fell in love with the area. Hello. My name is Alicia :) I have experience working as a companion and home health aide within my community. I am great at organizing spaces, helping your loved one keep up with house chores, engage in uplifting conversations, and assisting in many other household tasks like laundry, dishes, trash & shopping. I enjoy working along side of clients if that is their preference; and help encourage and support independence. If the client desires not to work along side of me and assign task, that is ok too.

Surprisingly enough, in caring for my mom and pastor's mom the last 18 months of their lives, I found I'm very patient with the elderly. Both women had dementia as well. Doing crafts or something creatively "fun" was enjoyable. There is SOO much need for the elderly! My heart goes out to them, especially those who don't have family or their family lives far away. I'm an extrovert who loves to laugh. It's important to find the humor in life. It's also important to help the person retain their dignity, especially if incontinent, which can be humiliating to the patient. After caring for both women, they both died within 3 months of each other. I had quit my job to care for my mom full time and home health was an easy segue back into working full time. I enjoy getting to know new people and hearing their "story" as everyone has a story. I play the piano and saxophone, and my patients always lived hearing one or the other. I'm pretty laid back and easy going.
