Even in high school, and now in college, I'm given important tasks because of my dedication and sense of responsibility. Working as a lifeguard gave me experience working with the elderly as most of the classes I guarded were for seniors. I found that I had quite a natural rapport with them and even formed some friendships. This experience made me much more interested in being a caregiver, I really enjoyed getting to know the people in the classes I supervised and being able to help them. I also spent a lot of time with my grandma after she developed dementia, and I was happy to be able to help her feel more comfortable and provide some company throughout her struggles.
