Young, physically active 47 yr-old with much training & yrs of exp working with young adult-geriatric population with many different conditions & in every residential/non-residential clinical setting. I've worked as a home health nurse aide, patient safety attendant, housekeeper, hospital/nursing home assistant and I love what I do! My career aspirations are to finish my MSN. I get along well with dogs (cats are negotiable) but, prefer a non-smoking home as I am a non smoker. I've been gainfully employed (by someone who found me on a similar website) for more than a year. Available for up to 12 hrs/day Mon-Fri, every other weekend. I am fully vaccinated, I can provide proof of residency/citizenship, complete work history, current professional/personal references. I have access to a good running, fully insured vehicle or I can drive yours. I have a good driving record. I will pass an IChat, DHS & CNA background check.

I choose to be in this Field for many reasons, the Major one is because I have the heart and patients to take care of someone who is struggling. It makes me feel happy when I know there taken care of and still feel valuable to life. I love talking, I'll play cards or watch movies or go out and do activities with my patients. I'll treat them with care and love as if they were a family member of my own. Over the past 6 years I have gained a lot of knowledge working in the medical field so I do come with alot of experiences !

l 've been a caregiver since (1983) when I was trained and certifiied as s a direct care staff for the profoundly mentally handicap for 5 years, than transitioned over to caring for the elderly, recently I just loss a client of over 6yrs. who was 98 years old. I also cared for her daughter who preceeded her in death due to lung cancer. I've been in the medical field for over 25 years half of that I was employed at McLaren Hospital in the Heart Unit as a cardiac Tech /CNA .The last 10 years I have worked in home / hospice care and that is when I truly found my calling ,I absolutely love it .I am loyal, honest and definitely dependable and we all know how important that is when looking for a care giver. I am dependable, optimistic and like helping people. I am a Massage Therapist and have always been drawn to helping people heal with touch therapy. The 20 years I have been a massage therapist I have been able to help people with so many ailments and keep them from having to have surgery or stay on pain medication. I was asked by a friend in the last year to help her when she found out she had Brain Cancer. I didn't expect that I would learn so much and feel like I had a purpose like I did. The journey that we took for the last 6 months was very special and I am proud that I had the chance to be there every step of the way right next to her and make a difference. In addition to being a very empathetic person, I'm also very patient with the people in my life. I understand that the people I provide care for are on a difficult and at times, emotionally stressful journey. I pride myself in keeping to a consistent work schedule because I understand that my clients depend on me for assistance. I'm also adaptable to client emergencies or changes to schedules. Answer to the question, what am I most proud of??? I have to say its my boys.. I got to bring up two amazing fabulous sons to being productive independent men, while working as a single mom. They make me proud.
