I became a caregiver because I needed hours to apply for physician assistant school but I came to love the job. I love being a caregiver now because of the joy I get when I help someone become more comfortable and put a smile on their face. I love helping people because I care and have a compassionate heart for others. I worked in a dementia unit at Heritage community of Kalamazoo for two years we had a resident who would only allow me to provide care for her because of the way I approached. Being a caregiver is all about being that person someone can trust with things they can't do for themselve anymore. I am 27 years old and I live in Portage, MI, I have my own car, don't smoke, hard working, trustworthy, attentive, caring and patient. I hope to become a nurse soon so I can be a great caregiver to many more.
