My sophomore year of high school I had to become my own mother's nurse. She had gastroentestinal and esophageal dysmotility that caused her to have a feeding tube. I was already interested in the medical field but having that first hand experience really set it in stone. I also have my own auto immune disease, which means I was in and out of hospitals. I was able to see how much a care giver can positively or negatively impact a patient's life. I am only 18 years old and I do not have my CNA certificate yet. However, the medical industry has impacted my lif and I have a passion to be a part of it. In a positive way.
