About Mare

Hello & I hope you're doing well. My name is Mare. I was born & raised in Charlotte, NC. My interest in care giving began in 1982 when I gave birth to my daughter. Tiffany was born @ CMC w/ no right kidney & only a piece of a left kidney. That's when my caregiving actually began, however I had always wanted to be a nurse. Tiffany had several episodes of heart failure, as well as many seizures. I took the opportunity to learn as much as possible in order to help her in every way I could. Tiffany and I were referred to The Children's Hospital of Alabama where I was taught how to perform peritoneal dialysis. I treated her w/ paritoneal dialysis in my home for approx one year. At that time, doctors decided she had to have a transplant. At 18 months, Tiffany was given one of my kidneys. She was put on a great deal of medications & there was a lot of care given to her over her lifespan of 28 years. After Tiffany's passing, I followed my interest in caregiving by working at a hospital as well as a few assisted living facilities. I am a very friendly, patient & caring person who has been taught how to deescalate issues if they arise. I'm also a great listener which makes me believe I am a great companion for those who need it. I would enjoy meeting you & your loved one to see if I may help with their care. I hope to see you soon! Thank you!

I became a caregivers when my grandmother became ill. Seeing progress, seeing faces light up when I walk in thee room, listening to past stories, their past, being able to help keep clients in there home and as much as possible independent. When you meet a client who just wants to give up and that perfect fit cna-comes along and gives that client hope and purpose to keep going. About me: I'm patient, kind and I think first before I react. I away put thee shoe or my foot first to see how it could affect thee other person before anything. I'm a good listener and follow directions as asked or written and I give a 120 percent or more to thee care of my job..

I love people and think we should all be treated with respect and kindness. I started caregiving due to the fact of both of my son's great-grandparents were diagnosed with dementia. I did not want them to be placed in a home or separated. Then after both of them passed away, I sadly went back to my wrecker service. Worked only two weeks and decided this is not what God wants me to do. So I went to work for Kelly's assisted living as an on-call coordinator and doing PCA work during the day. Then Mr Hartman came into my life he suffered from MS completely quadriplegic I was told I would be lucky if he lived 5 years. He became a father to me I kept him alive with the grace of God for over 20 years. He was a very large man that was bed bound but everybody was amazed that he only had one bed sore the entire time I took care of him. I do not have a problem with any pets and helping take care of them. I also will help your loved one with grocery shopping all ADLs and housekeeping.I love to make people smile. I have a quirky sense of humor. I also worked in a facility under memory Care. I just hope as I age someone will care for me as I have cared for the people in my life. With compassion, love, kindness and understanding. Thank you for considering me to care for your loved one. [?]
