I genuinely love to nurture and care for others. From childhood on, I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field so that I might be able to help those in need. Due to adverse conditions, I was unable to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse, so I initially became a CNA and later became a Medical Assistant. I thoroughly enjoy the comaraderie and direct contact of both positions. As a Medical Assistant, I learned how to draw blood, give injections, vitals, laboratory procedures.....so worked in this field until relocating to Raleigh, NC. There was such a great need for CNAs at that time so I decided to branch out on my own work as private duty caregiver. Since doing so, I have been blessed with wonderful clients, and word of mouth from previous clients has certainly contributed to my success. I am proud of making the decision to become my own boss, and having the initiative and desire to do so. My last private duty assignment ended in April after eighteen months of caring for an Alzheimers' client that ultimately passed away. I grew to love her dearly, and will always hold a special place in my heart for her. Currently, I am doing fill-in work, but am seeking a full time caregiving position.
