About Catina

I became a caregiver about 6 years ago. As a child I took care of my grandmother when she was sick and had surgery and I really enjoyed it. When I got in my teen years my mother had to have a major operation and ended up with a nasty infection, so I got to clean and change bandages and give her medications via IV and this has been my passion ever since. I love working with people to help them with daily needs that they can no longer do on their on. I also enjoy spending time and getting to know the people I work with. I am proud to say I have been to school and gotten my CNA I certificate and am currently enrolled in school to get my Associates degree of Applied Science in Medical Assisting. I am working to get my RN and hopefully will not stop until I have my Mastered degree. I have always wanted to work in the medical field since I was a little girl to help people that are sick and/or unable to care for themselves. I am a single mother of 5 wonderful and smart little boys and have worked hard to be a wonderful mom, wonderful caregiver, and hard working student. I want to make a difference in peoples lives and give a extra hand where I can!

I worked on the long-term side of the building providing patient care to residents. I did am care bathes and showers, grooming, and ADL's. I also worked as an Restorative Aide assisting therapy to help the residents on the long-term side to continue to get ROM and ambulation to keep their body's in shape as well as applying splints to keep their limbs from contracting.

Not really sure of the dates of hire and end. I worked as a home health care aide to provide daily am and pm care for patients in their homes. I help assist with bathing, cooking, cleaning, and taking patients to appointment. I helped to maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment for each patient.

Being able to help them to do things that they are unable to do alone gives me joy and puts a big smile on there face. I really just have the heart to help people. Its really not a easy job because the person on the other end have to like you and get alone with you and then you can have that close relationship with each other.
