I became a caregiver because I have always loved the medical field and also helping people. It is the most fulfilling job to have. I put my whole heart into taking care of not only their needs but I am their friend as well. Someone who they can always trust. I don't just like being a caregiver, I absolutely love it. To be able to help someone and care for them the way they truly need to be is the best feeling in the world. I am most proud of my care giving job at the moment. I take care of a paralyzed man. I have been trained as a CNA on the job but I don't have my certification, however also do housework. Feed him. Bathe him. Get him in and out of bed. I do everything he needs. This job humbles me daily for him to be so happy in his condition. I have taken up quickly and learnt a lot. That's my proudest accomplishment. One thing about me, very hard worker with the biggest heart you'll ever meet. I put everything into making sure he is taken care of, and happy. I always knew this was the field I was called to be in. Side note; I have a copy of my background check I will gladly fax to you.

I became a senior caregiver almost two years ago, prior to that I worked in disability for five years. Many of my friends say that I have a lot of compassion and would have made a great mother. My strengths are the ability to listen, be quiet, enter the persons world I am responsible for. I feel strong about acknowledging people's dignity especially as we age and become dependent. Over the past two years I have worked with approximately two dozen different seniors, all with different needs,and circumstances. What do I like about being a caregiver? Knowing that I am truly adding value to someone's life is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have and I feel very blessed and grateful for each of them. A personal achievement that I am very proud of is that I founded and community magazine while living in Australia that gives a good wholesome reflection of the lives and communities in a rural area. I sold the magazine to an Australian before I returned to the states and the magazine is still going strong! I am a Christian but acknowledge all religions. I am a very open hearted person, and would love to meet with any family who thinks I might be the right person to assist their loved one.
