I have a calling & passion for serving those in need; especially the elderly population. My ongoing mission is to help them with continuum of life care their way, not mine. I'm committed to advocating and promoting their wants and needs on an individual basis. I've been a caregiver; predominantly in the private in home sector for 33 years. I look forward to serving many more years. I am thoroughly committed to providing & maintaing a safe and stress free environment for each aging client I purposefully love to be with and care for.

Hi! My legal name is Teresa but my friends & family call me Teri or Honey, depending on how we met. Honey is the grandma-name my children chose for me & has become a constant since receiving full & permanent custody of my granddaughter in 2015. I am a natural caregiver to such a degree that my genuine interest & concern for the well-being of others is blatantly obvious to all I encounter. So much so that I am frequently approached by strangers looking to share their troubles, wanting help, advice or just a non-judgmental ear. It still amazes me every time it happens but it warms my heart & makes me happy to be that person. I am a wife, mother to three biological daughters aged 31, 30 & 21, two adopted daughters aged 19 & 12 & caregiver to my stepfather. The 19 year-old lost her mother at 13, her father at 16 & I was finally able to bring her home a few months later. The 12 year-old is the granddaughter who I've been caring for since she was 5, & I became caretaker of my stepfather in 2016 after we lost my mother. For the first 20 years of my working life I was involved in material management, planning & purchasing. The first 10 years were spent in aviation & the last were spent in telecom. I was laid off in 2012 & decided to start working towards my lifelong desire of becoming a medical professional. I earned an associate's degree from Wake Tech in 2014, transferred to NC State in 2015 & earned my bachelor's degree in psychology in 2018. I'm definitely not finished yet but I also have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I am kind, warm, friendly, genuine & patient to a fault. I enjoy meeting new people, talking & listening to their stories. I look forward to learning something new every day. I am pet friendly with both cats & dogs of all shapes & sizes. Most importantly, I love to make people smile, especially those who haven't found a reason to in a while. Note: All listed skills are from personal experience & my Spanish is not fluent.
