I love working with individuals and families to help them feel comfortable in their own home. I offer compassionate care, attuned support, and individualized options based on their interests and goal. Sometimes that is reminiscing on the good 'ole days, or making their favorite soup growing up, or creating a home environment that fits their current needs, like moving things around so their mobility devices can fit easily. I really like to encourage mobility exercises, when appropriate. Sometimes that looks like a walk across the living room, or down the block, or perhaps a local park if we're feeling up to it. I also love to find the positives and celebrate the win of the day, and acknowledge the hardships. I feel that acknowledging difficulties help clients to feel heard and understood. I like to help clients notice what is going on today. Notice how they feel today. I am also proficient in taking notes on clients condition, diet, medications, achievements of the day, and more. I enjoy making clients lives easier so they can enjoy more of their favorites.

I supported an elderly couple with household chores, and maintenance, grocery shopping, meal prep, and more. We enjoyed trips to local parks, the gym, and more. I especially enjoyed working with their adult disabled son. We went to the local gym and would shoot basketballs together. This brought him a lot of joy, which created beautiful memories for me as well. I also learned more about supporting clients with early onset Alzheimer's. Sometimes this meant I acknowledged a request or situation the client was interested in and needed a bit of redirection. I always keep these interactions as positive as possible by pointing out something else that could be of interest.

One lovely lady I stayed with overnight to help her feel more comfortable in her home. I assisted her up and down the stairs. I kept her company with conversations about her family and friends. I made her breakfast every morning. I loved talking about her life, hopes and thoughts about things. We enjoyed watching Lifetime movies together and laughing.

One lady I worked with had 24 hour care. I made meals for her, fed her, gave her medications according to her schedule, cleaned, helped her into and out of chairs and helped her maneuver around the house. I also assisted with bathing and dressing. I managed the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mopping, and kept detailed notes about her condition. We enjoyed speaking about her children and life experiences.
