I was employed by Tom himself. I met him while visiting my father, he is a neighbor. I told him I was a caregiver and CNA certified and looking for work in passing one day and he hired me the next day. I would help him with his medications, made Dr appt.'s for him, took him to and from Dr. Appt.'s. We took walks and went to the park some days and broke up bread for the ducks. In the colder months I'd try to keep him occupied with his brain instead of sitting in front of the TV all day, we would do puzzles or play cards or board games. We talked a lot. He talked a lot. He fought me most of the days but I'd try to exercise his legs and have him do different physical therapy exercises I'm familiar with. once or twice a week I'd go to the grocery store for him. I would pick up his dry cleaning. I did light cleaning and cooking. I made him dinner every night and I'd make dinner for him and put it in containers for him to have the days I wasn't there. We were very close and spent a long time together. I'm sad to have him go to a home but I know they can give him care that he needs which is 24/7 and it just makes sense for a man that lives alone to eventually do.

I was placed by Lisa's Companion's to a home in Mt. Laurel where two woman whose daughters were friends moved them in together because they were both suffering from Alzheimer's. I worked there full time but I was the night shift. I would start at 6pm so as soon as I arrived i would start cooking their dinner and get them both to the table. After Dinner they liked to watch jeopardy and wheel of fortune. At 7pm the older of the two woman would go to bed. She wasn't independent in the least. She wore a diaper, and needed help in the shower, getting dressed, getting into bed. She had an alarm on her bed so if she tried to get up in the middle of the night it would alarm me and I would rush up and run over to her. Most of the time she had to go to the bathroom, other times she was confused and didn't know what time it was. I left at 8am.
