I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping others, I love spending time with people listening to their life stories and the feeling of being able to be a companion to some one who needs it is amazing. It fills my heart with so much joy. At the age of 14 I helped my mother take care of my dying father during that time I realized how special I was to my father not just because I was his daughter but because he relied on me to help him with all his daily activities and it never bothered me I enjoyed being able to help him, so I guess I decided at a early age I wanted to help people in need.

I have twenty years past experience managing several group homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This includes medically fragile individuals requiring total care. Throughout my life, I was always taking care of someone in some aspect. I cared for my mother on hospice and assisted with elderly neighbors that needed my assistance. I have experience with taking care of seniors with mental health diagnoses such as depression and alzheimer's. I enjoy assisting seniors with activities of daily living. Knowing I was able to assist them with their needs, gives me a sense of gratification, knowing that I was able to help someone live a good quality of life. I have training in Diabetes, crisis intervention and training in transfers and using manual Hoyer lifts, as well as barrier-free Hoyer lifts. I am certified in First Aid, CPR and OSHA training. I am currently working as a Supervisor case manager. I oversee several case managers caseloads, for individuals with mental health diagnoses. I am looking for a part-time weekend position to supplement my income. With my past experience in direct care, I look forward to assisting you or your family member.
