About Murriet

Throughout my life, I have held many positions that placed another's well-being in my hands. And I love it! I am a mother of three children, I have taught Sunday schools, classes for children with special needs, and have even taken others into my home for long periods of time. Additionally, I have been taking care of my elderly sister for the past 10 years. Particularly, it has been the time spent with my children and my sister that has helped me realize that being a caretaker is my calling. For me, true joy is making someone smile, hearing them laugh, and seeing the gratitude in their eyes when they look at me. It's the greatest reward that I can receive, and it's the reason why I care not just with my head but with my heart. To be cared for takes bravery, it means being fully vulnerable with your caretaker and in my experience, it's when people are like that that you can best connect with them. Some of my strongest relationships have been with those who allowed me to care for them, and it's those connections, those conversations in truth and openness, that have enriched my life and changed me for the better. As an independent contractor, I took care of both parents by providing their daily needs. Meal preparation, grocery, medications, doctor's appointment, house cleaning until the husband was diagnosed with dementia and was admitted at a facility. I made daily visits to the facility whiles attending to the wife after my return. I took over caring for the wife afterward. Both clients were in their late eighties. Both daughters live out of state and trusted me with both parents. They would be available to give me references if required.
