I am a Licensed Practical Nurse based between New York and New Jersey. I have experience working with the elderly and believe in quality, compassionate care. Working as a nurse in a nursing home, I learned first-hand about diseases and disorders such as dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, stroke, etc. Not only did I gain the clinical skills to care for people with such illnesses, but I also learned the value of true empathy. I created wonderful relationships with my patients, patient families, and CNAs. When I resigned from my job at the nursing home, my coworkers and all my patient families wrote me heart warming letters and sent me off with love. Maintaining a positive attitude is key when dealing with people who are suffering, and that is a quality that comes natural to me. I believe all human beings deserve competent and dignified care. I work hard to ensure that my patients understand that they have and deserve my respect, and that their ailments do not make them less of a person. My nursing background ensures safety consciousness, and my warm personality ensures a positive atmosphere. Our seniors have a lot of wisdom to share and have full lives to share stories about, and I would love to offer a listening ear and helping hand to an elder in need.
