My name is Sherl Rehn and I moved to Santa Fe from Boston on September 8, 2007. I worked as a independent contractor and a personal assistant for a woman in Cambridge Massachusetts and other individuals in the Greater Boston Area. When I came to Santa Fe I joined Westminster Presbyterian Church and work for several of the church members. One of my clients had MS and I worked with him for a little over a year and until he need more intense care. I also worked with a woman who need personal care after a botched therapy. I took her to physical therapy appointments, to the store and did house and yard-work. In 2009 I became employed with Comfort Keepers as a Caregiver and eventually a Scheduler. I chose this line of work because I have so much compassion in my heart for those who are elderly, disabled, marginalized and disenfranchised members within our community and society as a whole. I love the elderly because I feel they all have an amazing story to tell and also have a lot to teach us if we would only listen to them. To me they are such precious individuals that live throughout the world. I took a semester off of school to deal with family issues and will be return summer semester to complete my final 13 credits of my Senior Year at New Mexico Highlands University. It is my plan to enter an Masters of Social Work program at an online University in the fall of this year.
