I became a caregiver out of necessity. First, I started taking care of my 90 year old grandmother. Next my father became very ill and we found out it was his heart and kidneys. He was diabetic, requiring a special diet, insulin and about ten different med for his heart. He required three trips to dialysis weekly before passing. Then my brother required my assistance from 2003 until 2008 for depression. I managed his medication, his bi-weekly doctor visits and I was his shopper and housekeeper as he was homebound. Now, I help with my mother who is legally blind. I take care of shopping and paying all bills. And yes I managed to take care of everyone while working a full time job! Now that I am retired I have the time to really just concentrate on assisting people with their life without any distractions, which will be nice. I am just a take charge and help kind of person. I believe in helping all people and all animals. That is just who I have always been! I would much prefer helping others one on one than be chained to my desk jobs! I am most proud of raising three great children all on my own while working full time. Each have wonderful personalities! I like to cook healthy meals, so I am very aware of the importance of nutrition. I love to read. I love music. Both are good for the soul!
