I am a great caregiver because I care a great deal about my clients and that's because of my personal view of it, my mother became very sick a few years ago and needed home care, I quit my secretary job to take care of her, she was always independent and found it hard to let someone take care of her, because she always did the taking care of, so I made her a deal, she let me take care of all her needs and she could tell me just how and in what order she would like me to do, she agreed to this deal, and never felt useless and was happy about how and when she wanted things done, my mother had several medical conditions, diabetes, hypertension, dementia, over weight, and I was able to control all of her conditions at home, by keeping logs of medicines, names of medicines, times of day of medicines, and by having a happy and contributing mom by allowing her to participate and have some control in her care, my most achievements that I am proud of are my techniques I use with dementia clients to get them to remember things, and my safe diets in losing weight, my mother was 350 pounds when I started taking care of her a few years ago, and in a year she was down to 170 pounds.
