About Denise

(LNAs number on AZ State Board of Nursing available.)I decided to become an LNA when I saw that needs that were not being addressed compassionately, with respect and dignity, in much of the population. I enjoy working for the diverse people that I am able to interact with. Knowing I am helping clients keep their independence as long as possible, helping the rehabilitation of a person post surgery, or allowing a family much needed respite time makes being a LNA a wonderful career choice for me. I feel that people should be able to rely on the LNA they have hired. Personal care, the ability to be compassionate with attention to detail, and the humanity of serving with an open heart count to me. I enjoy helping with range of motion, and keeping the mind of the patient occupied by music therapy, reading, playing cards, or even walks around the neighborhood. Helping a person stay true to who they are (and were) is a wonderful feeling. Allowing them to be as independent as they can be, yet filling the gap with help is important to me. I am most proud of care giving when I think of the warm smiles I have gotten with a simple 'thank you' after helping a Parkinson's client learn new ways to keep fluid motion while walking as best possible, or helping a family attain 'specialized utensils' to help another client scoop food, allowing more comfort while eating. I have been employed with State agencies as well as the school district.
