I am a very empathetic, compassionate, and reliable person. My mother was a caregiver and I grew up learning from all the people she took care of, including my grandfather. Her example lead me to enjoy taking care of others. I love learning from the experiences of older ones. They have so much wisdom to share. Older ones have so much to their families and the community throughout their life they deserve someone to take care of them for a change. A personal achievement is working with a client with dementia. It's not easy but it's rewarding knowing you are helping someone through the frustrations of not being able to communicate or get around like they once did. When I see her smile and or laugh it is all more than worth it.
