I have a total of 11 years experience with seniors starting within the nursing homes, private duties and working as a NYS 911 EMT. Working with the elderly has given me the opportunity to grow patient and to be receptive to their needs. Assisting with activities of daily activities such as assisting with personal hygiene, supervising with taking medications, meal preparation, housekeeping, driving to and from Doctors appointments, lifting, positioning, tracheotomy, peg-tube feeding, blood glucose level, suction, dialysis and record vital signs etc. My experience has made me very good at what I do, from recognizing early warning signs of possible cardiac related sickness, hypo/hyperglycemia incidences. Compassion, patience and being compassionate is innate for me, there is a sense of reward putting a smile on someones face just to assist with something so minute but it's really appreciated by the person who requires it.
