About Heidi

The degree of satisfaction derived from my interventions is a unique feeling, to experience. Both uplifting...but also humbling. Perhaps, being the parent of the most beautiful precious, most special special child. It's ingrained within me, the dire need to be a voice, for the vulnerable. Seeing a task completed, with great results, makes it all worthwhile. The greatest sense of gratitude, has been, for me, times when the client required careful, almost mechanical transferring. After she was safely delivered...that glorious sigh of relief, and the look of relaxed expression, of the client. I could cite endless more...TWO OTHER LANGUAGES - Hungarian Yiddish SALARY - always negotiable RESUME - available REFERENCES - all available. I'M EXTREMELY HEALTH CONSCIOUS, AND TAKE CARE TO - * exercise * weight control * watch my diet * keep myself active and youthful * mentally and physically * I welcome mind challenges... put to the test * I am grateful for my ability to maintain - correct body mechanics - in control when needed to pivot a patient....and always to maintain control FYI - Vaccination verification available, upon request.

Bayshore Home Health
Bayshore Home Health Mar 2019 - Present * Long Island City NY Since March 2019, I've been associated with Bayshore. The clients have been mainly US veterans. The work entailed - keeping up with housework; however the most important part was, addressing the wounds sustained by a patient, with diabetes. I learned a great deal; especially in the area of dressing leg wounds. The process (which I was honored to implement) involved a step-by-step procedure. Great care was always taken, to ensure 100% adherence to levels of hygiene. Beginning from the onset, preparing the warm water, with mild soap....to begin the rinsing process....the pat drying.....and more. Removal of the previous bandage was carried out carefully; especially taking precaution, not to rip the gauze pad etc, in order to prevent further oozing or weeping. The meticulous rinses....ointments....then addressing the new bandages. The process usually took at least two hours.

Home Health Aide

Affirmed Home Care
Affirmed Home Care Nov 2019 - Feb 2020 * New York NY My wonderful clients, spread, throughout the Upper East-West Side in Manhattan. The cases were mainly fill-ins. However, I got to know three unique clients, each with separate concerns. I would have loved to keep working with the last case; only the original caregiver was returning from Jamaica, and was expecting to return to her job. Then, the tragedy of the virus....I informed the agency that I prefer to undertake cases where I would not need to use the underground transport, and closer to the Queens area. My main functions, exercising - designed by the PT (Physical Therapist.) Range Of Motion, all the way from - flexing fingers. limbs, torso....was an important role. Sometimes, where blood pressure was an issue, we would monitor the rate of pressure using a digital pressure pump or sometimes, my older 'analog' pressure pump. Keeping a spic and span house, and keeping a happy and positive demeanor. With this population, I found they wanted to cling to every vestige of their PRECIOUS independence. Therefore I was sensitive to this, and kept on reminding them, how .....'we are helping each other...and how the jobs could never be accomplished, without their assistance...' Sadly, I dread to imagine what happened, since March of this year.....

Home Health Aide

Jan 2014 - May 2017
Platinum Home Health
Platinum Home Health Jan 2014 - May 2017 * Brooklyn NY This was the first agency I contracted with, upon completing my Home Health Aide Certification. My cases involved a range of wonderful clients. Areas - Brooklyn and Manhattan. The clients were often Holocaust Survivors, so I learned the art of listening, and sincere empathy. Tasks entailed - careful transfer to/from wheelchair, exercises, vital signs, walking during pleasant weather, hygiene, shower, skin care, oral - hair - nails care. Keeping a spic and span house, cultivating a positive atmosphere. SAFETY IS ALWAYS KEY. Dressing, meal preparation, shopping. I had experience with Hoyer Lift, but only for a short time, on a temporary case. I AM EAGER TO REFRESH MY SKILLS, IN THIS AREA. In general, I am ambitious to further my qualifications, move upward.
