I started out as a pca in 2003 but I was young and my heart wasn't in it. In 2015 my mother in law was diagnosed with a severe brain infection and we were told she would start declining rapidly. She needed 24hr care so we packed up and moved in with her. I quit my job to learn about how to give her proper care I went to doctors appointments and got guidance from her nurses that came to the house as well. They showed me how to give insulin and feeding tube care I practically became her primary caregiver. 6 months later she passed on. From that point on being a caregiver was something I knew I wanted to do. Just being able to provide care and companionship to someone is what i was put here to do. I currently work in a nursing home facility overnight and I just want to help someone else during the day
