About Amina

According to all my past employers I am very caring, patient, and very empathic, especially when it comes to helping residents. I believe I gathered those traits and what really attracted me to this field, is from being around and taking care of my grandparents who both have had a heart surgery, and diabetes and my Grandpa, who is an amputee, and has kidney failure and then my Grandma, who has Parkinson and Alzheimer's disease. I really enjoy seeing a smile on peoples faces and making them have a better day. An achievement that I am proud of is getting my STNA license and CPR certified by the age 16 through my high school and taking an EMT, and Phlebotomy course as well.

I work on campus and will continue to work her during the summer, 8am-5pm on Monday,Wednesday and Friday. I mostly answer calls,make appointments, tend to the computer and make sure the advisors in the office keep up with their schedule and their appointment times. I also handle a small percentage of the students paperwork when it comes to scanning or sending out letters. I have really appreciated this experience and hope to be able to use these new skills learned in other areas of practice.

The Landing of Canton

This is an assistant living place but it does include a small memory care unit which I did work in mostly. I enjoyed the environment and everyone working and living here. I had to do the residents laundry, take them snacks, and answer their calls in a matter or 2minutes or as soon as I could. I worked the midnight shift here as well until I had to go back to school and I really enjoyed it.

The Colony

Same as the Laurels just less people to take care, and I worked the midnight shift here while still in college. I only had a few people to get up for their breakfast and to get dress. It was a great, nice,relax, environment that I enjoyed.

Worked in this nursing home taking care people with different types of health concerns. I had a max of nearly 30 people per day unless someone was out then I helped approximately 40 to 50 people. I did work the afternoon shift here. I also had to do dining or feeding people as well as getting them up and dress and then putting everyone to sleep.
