I became a caregiver because I wanted to take care of people and help them. I currently work in a residential facility where I take care of individuals with developmental disorders. I enjoy my work and I enjoy helping the people I take care of. I enjoy the people I work with. There's a lot of team work that is required at this place and I am very thankful for the people I have to help me. I do enjoy talking to my consumers and hanging out with them. Most of them can't talk to me, but that doesn't stop me from talking to them! My biggest achievement at this point is that I just returned to nursing school. I spent many years avoiding it and finally I came to the realization that this is my dream and I needed to pursue it. Within a few months I was accepted and enrolled into a great nursing program; currently it is on line so I am able to work around my busy schedule with it. In addition to attending nursing school I baby sit occasionally, I have these amazing twin girls that I have known since they were babies and I watched for a couple of summers and now I still hang out with them and watch them every now and them. I do not have any children of my own, though I hope too one day. My boyfriend and I are talking more and more about our future, but nothing is set in stone yet. In the meantime, I have a niece and twin nephews that I can love on and play with.
