I have been a caregiver my whole life at some level, from babies to grandbabies, and grandparents to great-grandparents. It's a rewarding job to give respite to families, give them time to get their needs met and not have to worry about their person at home not being in the hands of a responsible person to take care of them. I think in terms of being a caregiver, I am most proud of being a pre-teen and being left to watch my great-grandfather once or twice a week while my grandmother got out to do her errands, get her hair done, etc. I am the mother of 2, and the hands on grandmother of 4. I have a full time job in accounting, but love the caretaker jobs I take on to get my own self out and do something different while earning money to allow my grandkids to be involved in after school activities.
