My Name is Crystal Beard, I decided to become a care giver after the birth of my third child, I wanted to be the mother my kids could look up to. A mom who has a great career. So 1992 I saw a advertisement about being a caregiver and that's when I decided to go to school to become a certified nursing assistant. I have been a care giver for 23 years and I feel what makes me a great caregiver is I have seen parents, children, aunts, uncles and other loved ones put into nursing homes and been forgotten and mistreated and I knew that I would never want my mom or loved one to be in that situation. So I treat my clients as I would want my family member to be treated with respect and dignity. I love being a caregiver because each and every person I have taken care of has taught me something. I have learned to be patient and respectful. I have learned to love, laugh, and cry. I have learned cultures and different ways people live. I take each experience as a new chapter in my life. I am proud of myself for being able to get up every morning and be proud to be able to go to work, and love what I am doing.
