Let me start by stating, entrusting a stranger with the life of a loved one or yourself can be quite daunting. Being a caregiver is much more than technical qualifications; it requires heart, soul, laughter, patience, compassion, and human nature at its most vulnerable state. This is why I am passionate about what I do. I have a very colloquial personality which keeps me fluid with other personalities. I have cared for elders in my community and I enjoy helping them preserve their independence as long as possible and becoming enriched with their history. I am proud of achieving the knowledge of my self worth and the worth of others, along with growth through writing and photography. I have experience with Parkinson's patients as well, and that has been a crowning honor for myself. I am also well versed in Alzheimer's, Dementia and MS. I am a very seasoned caregiver (14 years experience) with an aptitude beyond standardized care. More so, I find myself living through the wisdom and history of each person's story and take that knowledge through my own journey. 1. What actually makes me a great caregiver is my willingness to serve others and I believe it's my calling. 2. I became a caregiver because, I have great compassion for individuals in need of personal one on one care. 3. Their are several reasons why I like being a caregiver. The first reason is that I am able to be there for individuals that are in need of help. Another reason I enjoy being a caregiver is because, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and after the cancer she went into remission. Shortly afterwards, she was diagnosed with dementia. Recently she was diagnosed with Parkinson. I eventually had to move her into my home and I realized how self fulfilling and rewarding it is to serve others with sincere humility. I feel that as a caregiver each individuals that I care for should receive the best of care, compassion, and the best quality of care that life has to offer. 4. My most greatest achievement is yet to come because, I'm looking to achieve more tomorrow than I have today. Life is a lifelong learning process and when you think that you have achieved your greatest achievement there is still room left for more improvement.
