Work with TBI patients and carry out treatment plans as directed by treatment team. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs i.e.,showering, toileting, grooming, eating, etc.). Worked in Independent Living Group (under therapist watch/guidelines), reviewing written work, leading exercise/stretching groups, helping with computer programs, patients keep daily rehab schedules and outside appointments, and answering patient questions during the treatment day. Ensure that structure and distraction is appropriate for each patient. Ensure the safety and well-being of patients. Promote enthusiasm and enjoyment of activities and tasks performed by patients. Maintain activity level of patients. Transport patients to and from appointments and outings. Administer patient medication regime per DADS and nurse delegation criteria including taking blood pressures, monitoring blood sugar and giving insulin, and PEG tube feeding. Thoroughly and timely complete all documentation. Assist visitors by helping them feel welcome, answering questions while maintaining HIPAA guidelines, and facilitating communication with appropriate staff. Fill in as needed with treatment. Carry out housekeeping and meal tasks as assigned. CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified. I worked in inpatient and outpatient for 6 months and supported living for 3 .5 years.
