Couple of years ago when I first arrived in United States , I met a Nigerian family with a child with a Muscular Dystrophy. The child was very sick and the family were overwelmed with his care. That made me to volunteer myself to at least one night per week to help the family with non medical care; like bathing and feeding. Not very long that the government approved overnight professional nurse for the family. After that, I decided to go to CNA class to be a healthcare giver. The most thing that I like about my job is seeing myself helping the less privilege people health wise. There is nothing satisfying than to here a patient saying "thank you for taking good care of me." Like I have said, my personal achievement as a caregiver is seeing my patient getting better and living a better life. Seeing smile on their faces with a thank you words from their lips is quite satisfying. I came into United States from Nigeria with my husband and two children in 1998. I now have three children and still happily married. I have worked in different healthcare settings which include hospitals, nursing homes and private homes. My passion of caring for people with impaired health continue to grow daily. I will be very happy to find a family that need my help.
