I am very patient and understanding of each of my residents needs and wants. I am understanding of the difficulties when behaviors arise and am able to diffuse many situations. I love being able to give back to the community in a way that helps the older generation. Having compassion and being able to listen to my residents are probably one of the greatest joys of my job. Gateway Gardens was my first experience in working with the elderly. I quickly moved from a caregiver to a med tech in just 90 days, then to swing shift supervisor after 1 year. Challenging myself happens everyday in this field of work and makes me feel a sense of accomplishment.
