I am personable and enjoy being a home care provider. I became a caregiver because I wanted to help others by assisting them with their activities of daily living. I enjoyed caring for many seniors over the years and learned quite a lot from them. I believe I'm a great caregiver because I have had extensive training in a skilled nursing facility as well as in many private homes. I also enjoy seeing the difference that I often make in people's lives. I became a nursing assistant back in 1982 and acquired my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license at the convalescent hospital where I worked. I then went on to work for several home care agencies and acquired my Certified Home HeaIth Aide (CHHA) license. I have worked as an independent contractor caregiver for years. I am willing to commute for full-time employment. I have great references and will be happy to submit them upon request.

Nursing is a calling for me. Making sure that people receive the best possible care I am able to provide is my most important goal. Safety first always, compassion, dignity, privacy, respect and hope are all important attribute's that I find essential to good nursing care. It is a meaningful gratifying experience to know that I can add to someone's life and possibility bring goodness when health issues can be a challenge and so often depressing. Good nursing requires being completely present while in someone's home or in a facility. My standards are no cell phones while at work, no clock watching, and I always address people with respect by using MR.or Mrs. (last name) until I am encouraged otherwise. Using Mama or Papa and other terms of endearment are not appropriate for me personally in professional healthcare. I Enjoy making people's lives easier for them. Making sure that they have their dignity and still feel that they are in charge of their own home. Not go in and take over. Having a good relationship with who I help means so much. The reason in 1990 that I became a Caregiver was My Mom had breast cancer and I wanted to be the best I could be to take care of her. After My Mom passed away in 1993. I went back to another profession until 2008, since then I have had many Sweet Clients that will always be in My Heart[?] I am a Spoiler but know that whatever the Family and Professionals recommend is what should be done, and am Happy to fulfill what the needs are for this Special Client

What makes me a great caregiver? I treat the client as my own mother and father with most respect. I grew up wanted to be a nurse. I love listening and learning about their lives and their life experiences, That I've raised a five wonderful children and seen my grandchildren grown.

I worked in this field for over 19 years, it started with my nephew who is mentally disabled and needing full-time care. I moved on to getting certified CNA working with the disabled and elderly in a Convalescent Hospital. After my third child I moved on to private care which I still am currently doing. There is no Greater Joy than helping others!

I became a caregiver after doing in-home help for my grandparents. I realized that helping others is what I want to do as a career. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love to help others. As we age, we’re not able to do the things that we once could. I love to help give others some of their independence back. I'm proud that I'm a full time medical student with a high GPA. It is important to be on time and be responsible while working and going to school. I have a very positive attitude and I'm very patient.
