Hello 44 years old I have been in the health care field for over 15 years now I love helping the elder and those with disabilities or those that just need companionship. I choose this field because it gives me great comfort knowing I can make someone's day a bit more comfortable and a little easier or even just making one smile. I believe we all will need someone to care for us at some point in life so I treat those the way I'd want to be cared for later in life. My name is April. I've been a caregiver for a little over twenty years. Taking care of others is a real passion for me. I treat my patients how I want to be treated when it's my time. When I'm with my patient they receive my full attention if that means sitting and just listening to their stories or holding their hand and calming their fears. Born and raised here in Texas. Mother had me young so, my grandmother was my babysitter/ caregiver while mom and dad worked. I thought it was normal to always be around the elderly, at least It was to me. That's how and where my love for the elderly got started. It was planted, then later bloomed. As an individual who spent her early years in a civil war, it was seriously sad to see people who were affected badly and had no one to care for them. Due to my passion for humanity, I found myself voluntarily helping victims in anyway I could as encountered them. After my transition to the US due to the war, I knew that caregiving was a part of me and decided to spent my career life doing that. As a care giver, it gives me nothing less that joy and excitement to know that I can be there for an individual during their most critical time of need and that I can also be a part of the team who nurture them back to recovery/health. I'm proud to say that I've worked with multiple clients who has successfully recovered fully as well as clients who has not. But again, such is life.

Greetings and I hope all is well here is a little bit about me I've worked with seniors for a little while now privately as well as providing art services at nursing homes. What really got me into caregiving was the passing of my own grandmother, by me living out of town I never got to spend those last days with her which left me in great pain. That is why I started seeing what I can do to help out in the senior community. I cook I do light cleaning such as laundry, dishes, lining changes etc. I have other services that I offer as well I have my cosmetologist license, I offer manicures pedicures and haircuts, I do art classes and I'm also a licensed security officer so I'm trained see any danger coming if we happen to be on a outing. To me it's more then a job and honestly I just believe in treating people the way I would like to be treated or the way I would want someone to treat My love ones A person's character isn't built off of what they do when everyone is looking but more about what they do when no one is around I hope this was informational have a blessed day

Mature, nurture, and Care giver

Hello everyone! I am a caregiver based out of Seguin. I have worked as a CNA, adding with various other roles since 2011. I have also personally cared for several family members in my home when they were in need. Being compassionate is my goal and my best quality.

I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

I would be a great caregiver because i have been doing this type of work off and on for 30 yrs. I am very compassionate and caring caregiver. I also love to work with the eldery they have so much to tell us about their life.

I love being with elderly people. My grandparents had dementia so I have been around it and people affected by this have a very special place in my heart. I love spending time with older people and talking to them you can learn a lot from them if you listen to them.
