What I believe makes me a great caregiver is because what I lack in years of experience I make up in hard work, dedication and compassion. What made me decide to become a caregiver was a desire to help people, and also the idea that I could actually make a difference in people lives; whether it being as small as remembering that they prefer their coffee black or as significant as assisting them in their daily therapies so they can recover the best they can. What I like about being a caregiver is the simple fact that I can be a companion for those who may feel lost or forgot, a shoulder to cry on for those who are saddened or frustrated, and overall a reliable friend for anyone who needs one. A personal achievement I am proud of is earning my license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and sticking it out at my current job at a skilled nursing facility when the going got tough.
