I want to be a care giver because I just spent the past six months taking care of my father who has since passed on, I enjoyed spending time with him even though in the end he really didn't remember that I was his daughter anymore. I love helping others, in a way I think it helps to fill a void in ones life. I think that Geriatrics is my specialty I enjoy it because the clients have so much wisdom to share. I like to think I will help to improve their quality of life and ease some suffering. An employer should hire me because I know you need staff who can show true compassion, who are good with elder clients and who will make sure that the client has all that they need before my shift ends and things are left tidy. I really enjoy working with all different types of people, and helping them stay as independent as they can be. It’s really important to me to be polite and friendly, when I worked in the retail field I tried to get every customer to smile before they left my store! It has been a while since I had to take care of another person be sides myself, my youngest child is 27 years old , but I don’t think you lose the passion to please the others and make sure they always get the care they need– I haven’t.
