I realized that I love helping people when I was only 15. My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. I took her to all Dr appointments, sat with her thru her all pain medication treatments. It was hard for me to see her slipping away, but gave me joy to help her keep her independence. Ever since then I have been doing just that, enjoying helping people be able to keep their independence. I strongly believe that people live longer when they feel like they still have a purpose in life. My last patient was believed to just be bull headed, to stubborn to listen to what anybody said, not wanting to even get out of bed most days. After observing her for about a week I realized something wasn't right, I took her to the Drs and found out that her blood sugar was above 500. We went back and fourth to drs, nutritionist, and in just less then a month we had it regulated and below 130. She was outside walking, going to park with my children and I, and truly enjoying life for the first time in a long time
