Hello, my name is Jerry. I've been working as a certified HCA (caregiver) for 4 years. I am certified in the state of California. I recently relocated to Owatonna. Most of my experience is with dementia and hospice care. But I've worked in many different situations, Group homes, and floor coverage in memory care assisted living facilities. I've also worked with handicapped people and people with severe mental and physical developmental disabilities. ( I am also a certified DSP in CA), I have been thoroughly background-checked by each of the two agencies that I received most of my clients from. I have a completely clean record, and a clean driving record too. I love this job very much. I am reliable and honest, and I always have a very calm and friendly demeanor, which is why I work very well will elderly people. That's my favorite. But I am perfectly happy taking care of younger people too.

I have been working as a RN for 28 years. I enjoy working with and getting to know clients/patients. I am compassionate, easy going and enjoy working with all walks of life.

I have always had a passion for Caregiving. I enjoy helping others and find a sense of rewardment and pride in what I do. My biggest personal achivement has been my Registered Nursing degree. I am just taking time to study for my boards. I grew up taking care of my elderly family memebers and knew from a young age I always wanted to be in heath care.

I been c.n.a for 17yr and I love doing this kind of work. One thing I can say is dis is my career of choice. I love take care of ealdy people.the most thing I like about my job is the smile I put on my residents face. I'm proud of when I come into work and my residents are so excited to see me. When I was around the age of sixteen my grandmother became ill, she didn't want to leave the comfort of her own home, since I visited her often to help her with her daily chores , she asked me if I could make it possible that she could live at home , without question I agreed and for the next ten years I helped her. In return the experience was so rewarding and fulfilling I knew in my heart that was what I was destined to do. The fact I could help someone remain at home and live some what independent. I became a caregiver in the beginning because I needed a job but quickly found that's really where my heart is. I wouldn't work in any other profession. Thru the years I have had the pleasure of getting to know and care for some pretty interesting people who have taught me so much! I treasure the time spent with each of my patients.

I have been a caregiver since I was 13 years old. From babysitting to helping my parents care for my grandparents. I knew I wanted to become a caregiver at a young age. I am currently taking a year off from college. I am going to school to be a LPN then eventually to become a Registered Nurse. I am currently working overnights starting at 10pm-6am as a Resident Assistant at a Senior Living home. I can not imagine my life without being in the healthcare field. Every single day I am learning something knew about life and how I want to live it. I just started working with the elderly about a year ago and my life has taken a complete 180 degree turn for the better. Ever since I started working with them I have become more aware of how fragile life really is. I can not even put into words how many things I have learned in such a short time from each and every person I have worked with. Its something that I truly wish every person could experience. I try and make their life as comfortable as possible. I can not imagine being so independent and then slowly getting my independence taken away from me day by day. So with me understanding how hard that must be I try and let each person make their own choices whenever possible, I try to help them cope every single day. I just try to be a friend to each individual. I am beyond blessed that I have found my passion.
