December of 2015, Alzheimer's disease took my great-grandmother away from me. She was my best friend and taught me how to be hers. I provided care, prepared meals, and assisted her, as well as other elders ,with the activities of daily living. What I love most about the opportunity is the knowledge that the elderly love to share about their life and experience. The love and appreciation received from them is special as well, they always seem so grateful to have someone loveable around. I love having the chance to take their mind off of reality, to make them not feel so sick anymore.
