I have been working as a care companion since 2008 and my job duties include but are not limited to: grooming, light cleaning, errands, accompanying clients to doctor appointments, cooking, medication reminder, exercise, and arts and crafts. I became a care companion because I absolutely love caring for individuals that are unable to care for themselves or individuals just seeking occasional companionship. What I love most about my job is providing companionship. I'm a graduate of Colorado Technical University with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Health Administration Services. I became a caregiver before I was 18 when my grandfather was diagnosed with colon cancer. I care for him until his death. After High School my first job was as a nurse aide because I knew then that I wanted to help people not by administering medication but by letting them know that someone was there for them and I will help in any way I could. I now have a small Home Care Agency (CORRI CARES HOMECARE) in which I go to the home to take care of elderly or disabled individuals who wish to remain in the comfort of their own homes. I have worked in many areas such as long-term care, Hospitals, memory units, rehabilitation, emergency room and home health. I don't just provide services, I build relationships with my clients.
