I have been in the nursing field since I was 16 in one form or another. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse because I always enjoyed helping people and I love to talk, I never meet a stranger no matter where I go , I went to RN school in Indiana and worked on the medical surgical floor and worked in surgery for a few years. I was pretty blessed and was able to stay home with my children as they grew up, so I took time off from my career was a stay at home mother but always knew I would get involved in nursing again .As my children grew up I got involved in homecare which I love, I have met such wonderful families and clients along my journey and wouldn't trade my experience for anything.

I have had several different clients throughout my years of doing home care, that have had a variety of things wrong with them. I have taken care of both male and female clients, some of my clients have had dementia/ Alzheimer's, and then other of my clients have just required medical care to assist them until they were able to recover from a fall or a illness . So I have stayed daily at my jobs as well as over night, I assist my clients with getting medication ready as needed, take them to appointments,run errands, or just be there for companionship. I do light housekeeping. I always treat each one of my clients with dignity and respect

My great grandmother had multiple sclerosis when I was growing up as a young child and she lived next door to us. I used to go help my grandma take care of her till she got bedridden and passed. Both of my grandfathers also had Alzheimer's, dementia and Parkinson's I was also a full-time caregiver to one of them as a young adult.
