About Kayla

I am a very nurturing and compassionate person. I am patient, and I make a great companion. My grandmother made a career out of being a caregiver. I used to go to her clients' houses with her. I would help her care for them, and it made me feel good to be able to help these clients accomplish their daily tasks, while making them still feel independent. My grandfather has COPD, as well as arthritis. He has had knee surgery, making it hard for him to get around. My duties included cooking for him. Cleaning and bandaging his staples on his knee/leg, post surgery. I helped him with his leg exercise at home, but I also drove him to his physical therapy appointments.

I became a caregiver 2007 when my dad had a stroke. After the hospital he was sent to a nursing home and while I was there visiting, I could hear other patients calling for help and no one would attend to them. I felt bad so I went into their rooms and asked if I could help. And with my spare time I would walk the halls and helped who ever needed help.. people thought I was an employee.
