Work with Alzheimer's/dementia patients/post surgery patients and some just needing companionship. Do meal prep, med reminders, grocery shopping. Some clients need rides to doctors appointments, light laundry&housekeeping.

This was a 40-plus-hour/per week job for an elderly female client, for post hip surgery care. Took her to All doctors appointments, handled all telephone communication on medication reactions and/or changes. Organized (pill boxes)and explained each daily medication, also including a quick phone call to her before bedtime and on weekends (when I was not@her home)to remind her&keep her on track. (Onset of Dementia after fall&surgery.) Made breakfast, lunch and prepped supper for her daily. Did all grocery shopping and errand running. Always had something home made and frozen in individual containers for her to eat on the weekends. Did all hip precaution exercises with her. Answered her land line and cell phone calls, most of the time. Did very light housekeeping, such as cleaning of kitchen(after I cooked) and did her one load of laundry each week. Always stood outside of shower room while she bathed as to give her privacy but protection as well. Rolled her hair on occasion, if she didn't feel up to her usual hair salon visit! Helped her with dressing for short while after surgery while hip precautions were still in place by her surgeon. High concentration on lots of daily-happy communication to keep ongoing depression from getting worse. Wonderful lady, best client Ever.
