My name is Leah Creamer. I have been an RN since 1987, and furthered my education and abilities to help people by becoming a Women's Health NP in 1994. It is my nature, since childhood to want to help people, so being a nurse was an easy career choice and has been a very rewarding career. I am the type person that sees each person as a whole being, not just the medical problem he or she is facing. I see beyond the medical diagnoses and what the "prescription" is to make someone better. I consider support systems (or lack there of), emotional status, physical limitations, access to food at home, organization of the home to make independence as feasible as possible, and other variables that all play in to someone getting well ( or at least living to his or her optimal self). I enjoy taking the extra time to make everything as easy as possible for the person in need. I pride myself on patient education and on letting my actions show how much I care.....and the person feeling like someone cares for them is sometimes the best medicine. I am signing up to participate in this program to help people, and want to help in any way I can, not just necessarily in the capacity of a nurse. My being a nurse is just an added bonus. I will do anything from organizing, to shopping , to setting up the home to someone newly coming home in a wheelchair or on a walker, to nursing duties, to laundry, to shaving, to fixing hair, to taking walks, to pill organizing, to cleaning, and the list goes on!
