Experience caregiver having over 10 years working with various clients. I guess you could say my life could be encapsulated in four simple words faith, family, friends, and helping others! I have worked in Home Health both in nursing homes as well as memory care facilities for over 10 years. I love helping people, I also feel that in some ways this is my ministry even though it is my part-time job. I have experience in memory care, ADL's, transfer assist, gait training, lighthouse keeping, meal prep, companionship, and bathing and grooming, I have dependable transportation and arrive to work on time and don't miss days unless I am ill. I am normally very healthy, and I insist on cleanliness and am constantly washing my hands. I would like to think I am extremely cautious in keeping both myself safe as well as you. I've had extensive training in HIPAA and sanitation. After retiring from Health and Human Services caregiving became my passion. I'm a very conscientious and hard worker and yet I still remain cheerful throughout the day. I also am a Certified Activities Director so I feel like I bring a little more than just caregiving. I believe that seniors need daily activities to stay happy and healthy and if possible to be a part of their day-to-day activities and have a purpose. If the senior is capable and able to water plants or assist with meal prep I encourage that. I was raised in a family with younger siblings and started caring for others as a young child. Babysitting was my first and favorite job but as I got older, I knew more people personally that needed help as they were aging and less mobile than they were used to being. I love being able to do things around the house for them, make them meals, help them get around and just listen to their stories. By nature I am very interested in other people and their needs and it brings me so much joy to be able to help out.

I have several years of experience being a caregiver. I am also a Certified Nurses Aide, First Aid & CPR certified.

Hello! My name is April and I would love to be your caregiver. We have been a military family for 30 years and it is time to hang it up! I first became a caregiver when I was actually 18 years old. I became a Texas EMT. I was very rewarding but we got stationed elsewhere. Then when we made it back to Fort Hood I decided to go to CNA school. Again it was very rewarding but the military moved us. Two years after we moved my grandmother became sick. Instead of going to a care facility where there is no telling how she would be treated she ended up staying at home so that her family could take care of her. Even when she would have to be hospitalized for a short period of time she would tell the nurses that I was her care giver and that she wanted me to do the tasks instead of them. I want to be your caregiver because our mature family members need great care. Not just left alone in a bed to sit.
