One of the most important traits I possess would be patience, in this field of work you need a lot of it. You need it in order to be able to help the individual with the best care possible. Some other traits that help me be a great caregiver are trustworthyness, compassion, attentiveness, and dependability. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my mother. She has been a caregiver for 20 plus years and has tagged me along since I was about 4. I loved being in that atmosphere and what goes on. I learned many things from being around elderly people for the majority of my life. I enjoyed being able to build that relationship with them. I enjoy being able to talk about their lives and what they did and admired most. I love being around and being able to help someone now that I have the ability to do so. A personal achievement I would be proud of is in a couple of months I will be the first in my family to graduate with a bachelors degree.
