I am a 44 year old married mother of 1 College student and a Veteran. I have been doing Home Health Care on and off for the past 20 plus years. I nursed my own grandmother through a partial mastectomy and knee surgery. I assisted in hospice care for my husband's mother. I understand how hard it is to keep a job and to care for family members. I am not a fan of nursing homes I feel it is better for one to be at home with family and familiar surroundings. Born and raised here in Texas. Mother had me young so, my grandmother was my babysitter/ caregiver while mom and dad worked. I thought it was normal to always be around the elderly, at least It was to me. That's how and where my love for the elderly got started. It was planted, then later bloomed.
