Caregiver - fulltime 12+ hr. Shifts, 7 days a week, including holidays. Filled in other shifts when needed. Never once late, never missed shift. Companionship, mobility, CPAP, Oxygen machines, gave him his AM/PM meds, refilled meds., bathing /dressing when needed, wound care, meal prep., laundry, housekeeping, errands. I was never late and never missed a shift. I worked with him through a very difficult time in his life. I made sure that he maintained his dignity at all times, always treating him with respect and kindness. I encouraged him to have a positive attitude and showed him sincere compassion through his times of despair. I knew when he needed to be alone but listened to him intently when he needed to talk or needed company. I did my best to make him smile. I know without a doubt he trusted me and felt comfortable with me caring for him. He thanked me many times, never forgetting to tell me "I will see you tonight", at the end of my shift! He blessed my life eminsely, assisting me to fulfill my true purpose in life.
