My care giving career actually started as a teenager volunteering in a nursing home. I didn't realize it at the time, but that experience made a big impact. I think the thing that drew me was caring for the people. I think what makes a great caregiver is someone who is empathetic and has the heart for caring for someone else. Someone who wants to make a difference in someone's life. I discovered that there is an art to caregiving. It is something that I have satisfaction from. I have been a professional caregiver for 3 years now. I have worked with a couple of local agencies during that time. I have completed 1 year of nursing school. I am available during the day.
