Being a great caregiver requires a lot of patience, being reliable, showing empathy and compassion, being trusted and have a flexible schedule. Putting myself in the other person's shoes it gives me the idea of what it's like asking for help. Working with people in homes, it's important that I the caregiver feel the desire to want to help. Most people who need home care services are in need of special care or support. As a good caregiver, I have to be trustworthy as in being trusted to keep the client's information confidential. I became a caregiver because I enjoy working with older adults, and I look at them as if they are my Parents. I feel that when I'm older, I would want someone like myself to help me if I need help. I have been a caregiver for 8 years and I have so much passion in what I do.
